The American Musicals Project hosted their annual benefit concert, "Applause for the Golden Boy: The Music of Charles Strouse," last night, March 27th at the New York Historical Society.

Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza), Alexander Gemignani (Sweeney Todd), Daniel Reichard (Jersey Boys), Michael Gruber and other stars showcased Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, Applause and other works by Charles Strouse, who made a special appearance that evening.

Proceeds for the event, directed by Scott Alan Evans, went to The American Musicals Project, a teacher-training program and Social Studies/English Language Arts curriculum that exposes 7th and 8th graders in over 400 schools to American musical theatre.
