Well, since I saw the final dress tonight I think I am required by law to post about it...

Who cares what I thought of the production, more importantly, Sondheim was sitting in my row and had a smile on his face...isn't that what counts????

now for my ever so humble opinion....

The cast was great!!!! Especially Ann Miller(who really really IS STILL HERE!!!!) Donna McKechnie was really charming...in great voice and by far can still dance! When she smiles her entire face lights up the theatre...and her acting was right on! I also loved Tony Roberts, Dee Hoty, & Laurence Guittard...and their younger counterparts: Billy Hartung, Meredith Patterson (a star to be), & Michael Gruber...

The set and costumes were absolutely gorgeous...

It still had some rough spots...but I was quite impressed!!! I had never seen FOLLIES before...it sure was worth the wait. This is a top notch production (overall)...

..and to quote the little old lady behind me walking out for intermission "That Stephen Sondheim is a genius" (yes, I know. I know..I praise him too much.....but I was in awe!!!!!!!!!!)

Not sure what was more thrilling....watching Ann Miller sing "I'm Still Here" ...or watching Stephen Sondheim watching Ann Miller sing "I'm Still Here"

--Alison who's still beaming from this evening's experience!!!!!!!!!!
