Seattle Arts 2000
Time to fall in and cheer Seattle's top artistic achievements. Let's haul out the superlatives for the best of 2000.

Best Actor of 2000

The standout theater performance must go to Jeff Steitzer, whose irresistible turn as Touchstone, the romp 'n' rut Shakespearean fool in Seattle Repertory Theatre's fine production of As You Like It tweaked and reconfigured our funny bones. Steitzer's hilarious antics filled the stage with mirth, especially his well-placed crotch decor of bouncing balls.

A close second would be Michael Winters's touching portrayal in Lanford Wilson's Talley's Folly at A Contemporary Theatre. The adorably funny Bronson Pinchot and Michael Gruber tie for third place in Fifth Avenue Theatre's fabulous production of Anything Goes. Honorable mention goes to Laurence Ballard, who consistently delivers brilliance, intelligence and eloquence on Seattle stages.
